Welcome to Day 3 of our 22-day<\/strong> unity challenge for the Body of Christ! We are continuing our journey backward through the Hebrew alphabet to prepare our hearts for a global gathering of prayer and reconciliation on September 22, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, Tav (\u05ea) reminded us we are marked by the Cross, and Shin (\u05e9) called us to be refined by fire. Today, Resh (\u05e8) reminds us to place Christ at the head of our lives and our fellowship \u2014 the One crowned not with gold, but with thorns, whose reign gathers all nations into one family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Resh?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Resh (\u05e8), the 20th Hebrew letter, means \u201chead\u201d or \u201cbeginning.\u201d It calls us to humility, to recognize Christ as our true Head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 \u201cI watched as thrones were set in place, and the Ancient of Days took His seat\u201d (Dan. 7:9).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 \u201cI am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End\u201d (Rev. 22:13).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the soldiers placed a crown of thorns on Jesus\u2019 head (John 19:2), they meant to mock Him. But in God\u2019s wisdom, that crown revealed the humility and suffering love of the true King. Resh reminds us: true unity begins when we surrender our own kingdoms and crowns of pride and bow to the Head who bore thorns for the sake of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Focus on the Head?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Division comes when people fight for position and power. But global unity comes when all nations submit to the same Head \u2014 Jesus Christ. Paul wrote: \u201cHe is the head of the body, the church\u2026 so that in everything He might have the supremacy\u201d (Col. 1:18).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crown of thorns teaches us: leadership is sacrificial. Christ\u2019s suffering on His head broke down the walls between us, so that \u201cevery nation, tribe, people and language\u201d could stand together before His throne (Rev. 7:9). If we let Him be our Head, then unity is not just possible \u2014 it becomes inevitable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Day 3 Challenge: Crown Christ, Not Ourselves<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Reflect: Where are you still trying to wear your own crown \u2014 chasing recognition, control, or superiority?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Repent: Lay down self-exaltation and remember the crown of thorns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Reconcile: Honor Christ\u2019s Headship by praying with someone from a different church, culture, or tradition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Prayer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lord Jesus, You are the Head of the church, crowned with thorns for the sake of the world. Forgive us for building our own kingdoms and wearing crowns of pride. Teach us Your truth and shape us in humility. Gather Your people from every nation, tribe, and tongue into one Body, united under Your cross and Your Word, so that the world may believe. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
