Welcome to those who are joining Day 18 of our journey toward unity in the Body of Christ!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each day, we are counting backward through the Hebrew alphabet \u2014 preparing our hearts for the global gathering of prayer and reconciliation on September 22, 2025. Today we arrive at Hey, the 5th letter, a symbol of revelation, breath, and mercy. Hey reminds us that unity doesn\u2019t begin with casual connection \u2014 it begins with God\u2019s breath opening our eyes to see each other as He does.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Hey?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hey (\u05d4) carries rich meaning:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Behold: Hey is the letter of revelation. It calls us to open our eyes, to see what God is showing, and to pay attention to His presence. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breath: Its sound is the breath of God, reminding us of the Spirit who gives life (Genesis 2:7; John 20:22). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mercy: Hey reveals God\u2019s great mercy \u2014 His willingness to meet us with compassion, even when we fall short. The Number Five: Hey\u2019s value is five, the number of grace. Unity is only possible when grace covers our differences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hey and Unity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unity requires more than surface-level connection. It\u2019s not the shallow \u201chey\u201d we toss around in passing. Hey is God\u2019s call to behold each other \u2014 to see beyond offense, division, or assumption, and to recognize the image of God in one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The breath of God brings dead things back to life. When His Spirit fills us, He reveals mercy that makes reconciliation possible. Unity is born when we stop glancing past each other and start beholding with God\u2019s eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why Hey for Repentance and Redemption?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Repentance opens our eyes: We behold what we\u2019ve ignored, denied, or broken. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Redemption breathes new life: God restores what division tried to suffocate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unity requires mercy: Hey reminds us that grace and compassion must cover us if we are to walk together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Day 18 Challenge: Behold with Mercy<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reflect: Who have I overlooked or dismissed with a casual \u201chey\u201d instead of truly seeing them? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Repent: Ask God to open your eyes to behold others with His mercy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reconcile: Speak life into someone today \u2014 not casually, but intentionally \u2014 reminding them they are seen and valued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Prayer<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lord, breathe Your Spirit into us again. Open our eyes to behold what You are revealing. Where we have treated others lightly, teach us to see with mercy. Cover our divisions with grace and restore us as one Body, united by Your breath and Your love. Amen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 18: Hey (\u05d4) \u2014 Behold, the Breath of Mercy<\/p>\n

Hey is not the casual \u201chey\u201d we toss around in passing. In Hebrew, Hey means something far deeper \u2014 it is the sound of breath, the call to behold, and the letter of grace and mercy. It reminds us that unity begins when we truly see one another with God\u2019s eyes, not when we brush each other off with shallow words.<\/p>\n

Hey appears twice in God\u2019s Name (\u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d4), showing us that He reveals Himself through mercy and compassion. Its value is five, the number of grace, teaching us that unity is only possible when grace covers us. The breath of God restores what division has tried to suffocate.<\/p>\n
