The Hebrew letter Chet (\u05d7) looks like a doorway or a fence. It can symbolize both life (chai) and barriers. In unity, Chet calls us to ask: Are we building walls that shut others out, or gateways that welcome them in?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Too often, division grows when fences harden into fortresses \u2014 suspicion, pride, or unhealed wounds. But the Spirit of Christ tears down walls and opens gates. Where hostility once stood, Chet invites us to build paths of peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cFor He Himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility.\u201d \u2014 Ephesians 2:14<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cMake every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.\u201d \u2014 Ephesians 4:3<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Reflection<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chet confronts us with a choice: to let fences remain or to turn them into doorways of life. True unity requires dismantling the barriers of gossip, prejudice, or self-protection and daring to build bridges of trust and reconciliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Community Practice<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, take one step to break down a dividing fence:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apologize to someone where silence has built a barrier. Invite someone from a different \u201ccircle\u201d into your space. Replace suspicion with a question: \u201cCan you share your story with me?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer\/Declaration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLord, tear down the fences that divide us. Transform every barrier into a doorway of peace. Make us builders of unity, where hostility falls and Your love stands.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Story<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In one congregation, two groups had worshiped separately for years due to disagreements. A small step changed everything: they agreed to hold one shared meal. That table became the bridge. In time, their fence turned into fellowship, and the wall of hostility gave way to one body in Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chet reminds us: unity grows when fences fall. Every act of reconciliation opens a doorway into God\u2019s life and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
